Zoot

Twenty years ago, Zoot burst onto the Chicago music scene for a brief but memorable run of shows at some of the Windy City's finest music venues (with Martyrs being a personal band favorite). Chris Payne put them in high rotation on Q101's local show, and the band played an infamous acoustic set on the now-defunct WCBR ("The Bear"). Their sole CD, recorded at Soundworks while Smashing Pumpkins and Veruca Salt roamed the halls, was warmly received. The band recorded a follow-up EP at Chicago Recording Company, but alas broke up before it was ever mastered and released. In honor of the album's 20th anniversary, the band is reuniting for a one-night only event.
