The Natalie Lande Sextet

 The Natalie Lande Sextet is a brand new band on Chicago’s music scene. WithvSarah Marie Young on vocals, Dan Pierson on piano, Sam Hasting on guitar, John Sims on bass, and Peter Manheim on drums, the band members skillfully aid saxophonist Natalie Lande in making her original compositions come to life. While each member of the sextet has an extensive jazz background, they all have experience playing in other contemporary genres, as well. Having recently received her Masters in Jazz Composition at DePaul University, Lande’s music is a collection of different genres such as rock, hip hop and classical music deeply infused with elements of jazz. Lande was awarded a grant by the Luminarts Cultural Foundation, giving her the wonderful opportunity of recording 8 of her compositions on an album. Lande’s first record, “Learning How To Fly” will be released at the end of August.
