Helen Pontani

 Born in Detroit, Michigan, Helen Pontani made her way to the Big Apple to fulfill her dreams of studying at the Alvin Ailey School of Dance and performing in modern dance companies. While working in movement, she developed a craving for false eyelashes, towering headdresses and glamour! As fabulous fate would have it, she became an original and honorary family member of burlesque pioneers, The World Famous Pontani Sisters. Since their inception, the trio of temptresses has changed the face of burlesque as we know it. Both with her sisters and on her own, Helen has dazzled audiences from the gritty big top of Coney Island to the glittering lights of Hollywood. Known as “the tapping tornado”, Helen was featured in the two year off-Broadway run of This is Burlesque. She has appeared in over a dozen national and international tours while also making frequent appearances on television programs like Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Gossip Girl, Queer Eye For The Straight Guy as well as having worked on programs with MTV, and VH1. This tap dance sensation has appeared in show stopping performances that have earned critical acclaim from the The New York Times, The New York Post, The Daily News, The Village Voice, and Time Out New York Magazine. One thing is for sure, with her flirtatious tapping, fabulous show girl costumes covered in rhinestones and fabulous feathers, Helen is sure to bedazzle you!
