Oblio & Arrow

Oblio And Arrow often give a nod toward pop music with catchy sing-along hooks while still maintaining an intimate singer-songwriter feel and foundation. The Chicago based group just released their second album ‘Steps’ which is loaded with feeling and color, tight vocal harmonies, thick layered percussion, and ranges in tone from having an Americana acoustic feel to having heavy beats, ethereal synth tones, and experimental guitars.  The lyrical theme and focus of the record is one of hope and reflection. The album is an attempt to have an honest look at oneself; who we are, where we’re going, and where we’ve come from. The title of the album, "Steps" came out of the idea that every little thing is only a part of the bigger picture or path that we lead.  This album was largely a DIY - "in house" project, recorded and performed by the group at their warehouse and home studios where they live around the Chicago land area. "Steps" was mixed over several months by Michael Krieglstein and Matthew Kopecky and mastered by Jonathan Alvin.  Oblio and Arrow is Matthew Kopecky, Michael Krieglstein, Jenna Heerdt, Emily Douglas, and Zack Darce.

Debussi

Debussi has a sound that is difficult to define, but easy to identify with. Inspired by alternative rock bands like The Black Keys, Radiohead, and The Raconteurs but also taking influence from classical composers (one of which inspired the band’s name), Debussí takes garage rock and spices it up with a deep knowledge of musical theory and rudiments. The band’s formation was not an easy one. Vocalist Matthew Kaz and Guitarist Alex Beck moved to Cleveland after college with the intention of creating a band consisting of the best musicians they could find. It took 2 years to create, but after an extensive search and several lineup changes, Debussi was born. For the last year, Debussi has been playing shows along the rustbelt with artists such as Bronze Radio Return, The Memorials (with Thomas Pridgen of Mars Volta), and Just Like Vinyl (with Thomas Erak of Fall of Troy). Locally, Debussi is known for their energetic and passionate live set. Every show is an event and every event is a party. The band is working on their first EP, which will focus on giving live favorites a fresh take. The EP is slated for release during the Spring of 2012 and will be followed by a regional tour spanning from Chicago to New York City.Boasting the slick and polished sound of well-crafted indie rock songs with beautiful vocal harmonies and an undeniable pop sensibility, Cleveland’s Debussi is beginning to set their self up to a long music career.

Natalie Duke

Natalie Duke's voice can either break your heart or smash it. Her head voice soars with a plaintive tone so sweet you'll want to cry; until her chest voice smacks you in the face and tells you to stop being such a baby. A professional singer since childhood, Natalie has the chops to back up her ambitious melodies. Her songs are sarcastic catharses lathered with sincere harmonies. She has the emotional reach of Fiona Apple and the light hearted vengefulness of Lily Allen, though she exists in a musical realm of her own. Natalie’s intellectual yet unpretentious view of reality, transposed into song, will invade the minds and hearts of all who choose to listen.
